Post 4:The Community

The Community (A Three Part Post)

Section A: Our community is based on interdependence (a lot, of interdependence) because whenever something happens, everyone does what they can too help out (yay!) .

Section B: Community Planners - Professionals who administer, advise, consult on or develop master plans and other professional planning documents.

Section C: Reflection on this poem:

       No Man Is An Island

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent.
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

This poem explains that even if one man tries to go on his own, he needs help.

Post 3 :Street Art Utopia

These pieces of sreet art represent our utopia by showing that even though our utopia stays classic, it has a present day twist to it. (Pac-Man forever!)

Post 2 :Indivduality and Equality

In our utopia, we encourage equality, yet we just adore individuality! So we try to incorporate both in our community! Things like sleeping quarters are usually the same, but you are allowed to customize things like accessories. Schedules vary depending on preference of hobbies. We try to keep things simple about this topic.

Post 1:Layout & Daily Life

Daily life in this utopia can range from simple to amazing. At the surface of the island, there appears to be a simple dwelling on the surface, but there is a door that leads to an underground area. After you take an elevator down, it appears to have taken you back up, but it has actually taken you to a diguised facility. Then, there will be doors, each on leading to different activities (i.e, paintball arena, park, etc.). There will also be a special floor for sleeping quarters. And if you see that there should be another room, you may file a request. Everyday, you eat, go to work, while children go to school. There will be a certain time in your schedule to go to activity rooms. Meals are made in the kitchen and are taken to the sleeping quarters. Each quarter has 4 rooms, the adult's room, the children's room, the eating room, and the restroom. We also have many jobs and careers to apply for. For example, you can be a cook. Or you can be a room architect. You can even be a trader, trading with the outside world. You earn more money depending on the job. For example, an architect earns more money, but they are at a risk of injuries from poor construction. Our currency is reffered as "chips", for they are little "chps" of silver. Money is used for buying accessories that are put in your living quarters. Traders are issued money from other places for trading.

Pre-post 1: Location of Utopia

Sited amongst one of the most magnificent stretches of freshwater scenery in the world, this 3.1 acre island includes a completely renovated (approx. 1875) main lodge with 8 bedrooms, 4 baths, a commercial kitchen, a family room, a library/office and numerous screened and open porches. Ancillary structures include a 2-bedroom guest cottage, a new 2 slip boathouse, deepwater docks and swim deck. Panoramic river vistas, privacy and a superior harbor make this place a rare opportunity to visit.

Robert's Super Fun Utopia  is located at the southwestern end of the Thousand Islands at the head of Grindstone Island nestled along the northern edge of upstate New York and minutes from the Canadian border. Ottawa is just 1.5 hours by car; Montreal is 2.5 hours and Toronto is 3 hours. Clayton is 1.5 hours by car from Syracuse and 2.5 hours from Rochester.

It was originally known as Whiskey Island, retaining its name from the time of the prohibition when it was used by smugglers bringing alcoholic beverages across the US/Canadian border.
